제목 Conformeric Equilibrium Affects the Longevity of Organic Light-Emitting Devices of Thermally Activate Delayed Fluorescence
초록 Thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) molecules have emerged as promising dopant materials for electroluminescence. However, molecular factors that govern operation lifetime of organic light-emitting devices (OLEDs) of TADF remain yet to be elucidated. As the first step to addressing this challenge, we investigated the molecular parameters, including excited-state energy and lifetime, and a bond dissociation energy of a series of TADF molecules having a 1,3,5-triphenyltriazine acceptor and different cyclic amino donors. Photolysis and electroluminescence studies indicated a positive relationship between the stability of TADF dopants and the operation lifetime of devices. We found that both intrinsic stability of the TADF molecules and operation lifetime of OLEDs improved with increasing the ratio of a quasi equatorial conformer over a quasi axial conformer. This unprecedented observance will provide novel insights into designing highly stable TADF dopants.
