제목 The complementary analysis of colloidal stability of high-content nano-YSZs
초록  Demands for yttria-stabilized zirconia particles (YSZs) have been increased due to their physical and chemical virtues. Especially, YSZ nanoparticles which were average diameter under 100 nm can be applied in various research fields. However, nanoparticles have characteristic about agglomeration by attraction between particles. Furthermore, it is very important to control this characteristic to ensure colloidal stability as the proportion of solids (raw materials) increased.
 In this study, we produced under 100 nm particles from several tens micrometer raw materials by break-down method and controlled re-agglomeration of nano YSZs by addition to dispersants. In addition, we established qualitative and quantitative analysis methods from size distribution and behavior of high-content (above 50 wt.% solid proportion) nanoparticles by laser transmission and backscattering. We demonstrated that poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) has the best dispersion effect with high-content nano YSZs, because of hydrogen bonding between surficial molecular structures and hydroxyl functional group of PVA.
