Silicon has been known as the next generation active anode material for Li-ion battery due to its high-specific capacity and low reaction voltage. However, Si has problems of huge volume change, causing fast decay in cyclability. Development of new polymeric binder which has high mechanical strength and adhesion property is hence required. Our lab has reported a new binder based on reversible acid-base interaction induced by physically-crosslinking system between poly(acrylic acid), PAA, and conductive polyaniline, PANI. Inspired by this study, we report herein a chitosan-grafted poly(aniline-co-anthranilic acid) as novel polymeric binder. The synthesis, characterization and electrochemical properties of this binder will be discussed in detail. |
