In the manufacturing process of dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs), dye adsorption onto TiO2 surface is the most time-consuming process. Various methods for a reduction of dye-adsorption time such as an electrophoresis and an ultrasonification has been reported. In this study, an electrostatic technique was utilized in order to reduce dye-adsorption time. TiO2 films were treated with an aqueous metal salt solution to incorporate metal cations, and thereby to produce positive charge on the surface of them. The resulting films were employed to photoelectrodes of DSSCs, and their effects on the dye-adsorption time and the photovoltaic properties were investigated. |
