제목 | Enhanced Visible-Light Driven Photocatalysts of TiO2/CuS Nano composite |
초록 | Photocatalysts can act as a catalysts which can decompose various bacteria and pollutants by promoting oxidation-reduction reaction with light as an energy source. Recently, metal oxide (TiO2, ZnO, WO3), chalcogenide-based materials (CdS, CuS) has been the most extensively studied as a photocatalysts. Among the semiconductor photocatalysis, TiO2 with inexpensive, chemically stable, and harmless is known to be industrially suitable. Nevertheless, the photocatalytic efficiency of TiO2 quite low under visible light because of its wide band gap (Eg=3.2eV). Therefore visible-light driven photocatalysts has attracted increasing research attention to extend range for absorption spectra. In this work, we carried out synthesis to form uniform TiO2/CuS composite structure, and then controlled the relative ratio of CuS to TiO2 in order to optimize the properties. The band gap of TiO2 composite was reduced by introduction of CuS, which would allow access to longer wavelengths rather than only using TiO2 and CuS respectively. |
