Two eco-friendly diols, poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) and poly(lactide) (PLA) diol were applied for the synthesis of polyurethane acrylates (PUAs) to reduce carbon dioxide emission of materials. PUAs with acrylate-ended groups were synthesized and then their mixtures were cured by UV. The cured PUAs were analyzed by fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimetry, drop shape analysis, universal testing machine, and dynamic mechanical analyzer. The cured PUAs showed single Tg due to well distribution of diols. The cured PUAs’ tensile strength and Tg decreased with the content of PEG diol. As the content of PLA in the PUAs decreases, thermal stability and hydrophilicity were improved. As a results the mechanical and thermal properties of synthesized PUAs could be controlled by diol ratio. |
