제목 | Improved ethylene production from electrocatalytic CO2RR using Cu2O catalyst with different crystal surfaces |
초록 | The development of CO2 reductionreaction (CO2RR) catalyst has been regarded as a promising technology toproduce value-added chemicals. It is known that Cu catalysts have specific selectivityfor CO2RR according to the crystal surfaces. However, few studies have beenconducted on the change in the selectivity of Cu2O according to thecrystal surfaces. In this study, we synthesized Cu2O catalysts(Cube, Flat and Octahedral) with different crystal surfaces to improve the C2H4selectivity and demonstrated the principle of the reduction process. Weconfirmed that Cube Cu2O with (100) crystal surface showed the higherselectivity to C2H4 compared to selectivity to C2H4of Flat and Octahedral Cu2O. Through the in-situ analysis, we foundthat Cu2O (100) gradually reduced to Cu (100) during CO2RR and themain active site for producing the C2H4 was the Cu surface.We believe that our study can provide a strategy for designing a novelelectrochemical CO2RR system. |
