Electrostatic field assisted lithium recovery process from aqueous solution using lithium selective adsorbent |

In this study, the effect of ectrostatic field assistance (EFA) was investigated to improve the conventional lihtium recovery method which requires long adsorption/desorption time. The operation of the experiments was conducted on the continuous flow through system equipped test set by modifying the conventional membrane capacitive deionization (MCDI) system. The adsorption/desorption performance by EFA range from 0 to 2.0 V was compared to that of the conventional process. The results showed that the adsorption performance by EFA enhanced with increasing cell potential up to 1.0 V and initial lithium concentrations, also the adsorption rate reach at equilibrium state was significantly enhanced under EFA compared with physisorption condition. The system showed good durability during the repeated adsorption/desorption cycle tests. |
