제목 Synthesis of Gradient or Block Copolymer By Anionic Copolymerization of Carbazole Derivative and Styrene
초록 Anionic copolymerization of N-ethyl-3-vinylcarbazole(NE3VC) with styrene produced a gradient or a blocky copolymer. NE3VC was successfully prepared from the Wittig reaction of 9-ethyl-3-carbazolcarboxaldehyde using phosphonium ylide. The yield was 78% on the basis of the incipient amount of the corresponding carboxaldehyde used. The rate of anionic homopolymerization of NE3VC was found to be so slow even in THF at –78°C. In spite of slow reaction rate, block copolymers of PS-b-PNE3VC, PNE3VC-b-PS, were successfully synthesized by n-BuLi-initiated copolymerization in THF at -78°C. Products were characterized by the combination of size exclusive chromatographic and 1H NMR spectroscopic analysis. This results for copolymerizations will be reported in this presentation.
