The oxygen evolution reaction (OER) decreases the overall energy conversion efficiency due to the sluggish kinetic and thus requires an efficient catalyst. The N doped transition metal phosphate could be a key to efficient electrocatalyst development for OER. Herein, we report a facile method for fabricating N doped ternary metal phosphate with several steps. For synthesis interconnected structure of ZIF on layer double hydroxide (LDH), the LDH synthesized with electrodeposition method in-situ growth on nickel foam was immersed in the 2-MI solution (ZCF-LDH@ZIF). The ZCF-LDH@ZIF is annealed with P source to form ZCF-LDH@N-P. Zn ions enhance the electrochemical activities in two ways; reducing size of ZIF, and improvement of chemical properties of Co ions in LDH. The ZCF-LDH@N-P requires only 273 mV at 10 mA cm-2 and a low Tafel slope of 37.9 mV dec-1 in 1.0 M KOH solution. The characterization of ZCF-LDH@N-P was investigated by using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The electrochemical measurements were performed by linear sweep voltammetry (LSV), and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). |
