제목 Aqueous Solubilization of Paclitaxel Using Hydrotropic Block Copolymer Micelle
초록 Poor water solubility of hydrophobic drugs has been serious problems for drug formulation and bioavailability. Many of solubilization methods have been suggested, but with limited successes. Recently, polymer micelle system has attracted much attention as a useful carrier system for various poorly soluble drugs due to its good stability and unique colloidal properties. Hydrotropic agents are used to enhance the water solubility of poor water soluble compound. And it has more effective ability with polymeric structure. In this study, we have designed a hydrotropic block copolymer system by ATRP, which consists of a hydrophilic poly(ethylene glycol) block and a hydrotropic poly(2-(4-vinyl benzyloxy)-N-picolylnicotinamide) and can self-assemble in aqueous media to form micelle. The enhanced water-solubility of paclitaxel by the synergistic effect of hydrotropic and micellar solubilization has been characterized and the release of paclitaxel from the polymer micelle has been observed.
