Preparation of Multifunctional Latent Heat Storage Nanocapsules via Resin-fortified Miniemulsion Polymerization |

Phase change material-polystyrene (PCM-PS) nanocapsules were prepared by resin fortified miniemulsion (RFME) polymerization using the alkali soluble resin (ASR). poly(styrene-co-acrylic acid) (SAA), which is functional amphiphilic ASR, has water-stability property of oil phase nanodroplet after high shear homogenization. Crosslinker improved efficiency of PCM encapsulation. Average particle size of nanocapsules was about 200nm by DLS. Morphology and inner structure of the PCM-PS nanocapsules were proved by SEM and TEM, respectively. Behavior of thermal energy storage of PCM-PS nanocapsules was analyzed by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Magnetic property was combined with introduction of magnetite nanoparticles. |
