제목 Macroscopic Graphitic Carbon Nitride Monolith for Efficient Hydrogen Production by Photocatalytic Reforming of Glucose under Sunlight
초록 Large particulate photocatalysts allow efficient recovery or installation into the substrate while limiting light-catalyst interaction and mass-/charge transfer. Herein, we develop organic single-crystal monoliths with controllable dimensions by solution-processed molecular cooperative assembly between melamine and trithiocyanuric acid (MTCA). As synthesized MTCA-based g-CNs maintain the macroscopic property of precursor with different polycondensation modes depending on the crystal ordering, thereby changing microstructure, electronic structure, and photocatalytic activity. Indeed, the large crystal ordering of MTCA-100 leads to the more positive valence band position of the resulting g-CN. As a result, MTCA-100-CN shows a high hydrogen evolution rate of 3.19 µmol/h from glucose photoreformning under AM1.5G. This study highlights the synthesis of practical photocatalyst without losing photocatalytic activity relevant for organic waste treatment while yielding value-added-products.
