제목 Oxygen vacancy gradient TiO2 via photoelectrochemical-driven “self-purification” process
초록 Control of an oxygen vacancy (Vo) is important material engineering tools for oxide semiconductor photocatalysts. Vo suppress the bulk charge recombination at a Schottky contacted solid/liquid interface, often improving the photocatalytic process. Here, we demonstrate the control of Vo by the photoelectrochemical (PEC) driven “self-purification” using the disordered TiO2 nanowire, which is capable of boosting the PEC water splitting performance. Our PEC driven “self-purification” process effectively generated oxygen vacancy gradient (ΔVo) within the penetration depth of photons and resultantly the charge transport efficiency was improved up to 95%. In this study, we provide a reliable processing platform that promotes charge separation in the bulk region in semiconductors to the greatest extent.
