제목 Development of Iridium Electrocatalysts by Self-terminated Electrodeposition for Proton Exchange Membrane Water Electrolyzer
초록 With increasing interest in the hydrogen society, many studies on hydrogen production by using water electrolysis have been conducted. For the anode of the proton exchange membrane water electrolyzer (PEMWE), an IrOx was known to have the highest performance.
In this study, low loading Ir-based anodes were developed by self-terminated electrodeposition (SED) and subsequent anodizing process. At first, Ir metal nano particles (Ir NPs) is prepared on Au/carbon paper (Au/CP) by increasing the number of SED pulses. The anodizing processes were conducted by electrochemical and thermal methods respectively. The changes of phase and oxidation state of catalysts were analyzed by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The activity test for oxygen evolution reaction (OER) was conducted. And then according to each oxidation state, the intrinsic OER activity and stability were investigated. Finally, the PEMWE performance was evaluated.
