제목 Onion derived carbon dots with polymer composite thin films for sustainable packaging applications
초록 In this study, we have prepared the onion-derived carbon dots and their composition with biopolymer for sustainable and edible food packaging films. Optimization of the appropriate concentration of nanomaterials into a polymeric matrix to maintain physical properties like transparency, tensile (strain-stress), crystallinity, flexibility, etc. is also more significant. Along with UV shielding ability, antibacterial properties can also be imparted by the addition of chitosan-like biopolymer and antibacterial nanomaterials (Ag, ZnO, etc.) into the biopolymer matrix. The fabricated PVA/OE-CDs films successfully block the UV light. Not only blocks the UV region but also reemits absorbed UV light into the visible region. The transmission spectra of liquid OE-CDs successfully absorb the 100% UV-C (100-280 nm) and UV-B (280-315nm) region, while 10-68 % of UV-A (315-400 nm).
