Widening mmWave Absorption Bandwith via Magnetic Composite Powders |

High-performance electromagnetic wave absorbers are required for electromagnetic wave control at a broad bandwidth in millimeter-wave spectrum, which will play a big role in future wireless networks. Metamaterials known as traditional broadband electromagnetic wave absorbers are being used in the microwave region. However it cannot be used in the millimeter wave region due to difficulty in design and structure. Currently, magnetic materials are the most promising materials for absorbing electromagnetic waves in the high frequency. Among the iron oxide-based ferromagnetic materials, strontium ferrite absorbs a frequency of about 50 GHz. And epsilon iron oxide absorbs a frequency of about180GHz, also it can adjust the resonance frequency by substituting non-magnetic elements. In this study, we developed a facile and scalable method for synthesizing two millimeter-wave absorbing magnetic particles into a core-shell structure. |
