In this study, our aim is to research effect of low acyl gellan gum(LAGG) sponge for bone differentiation on the cell viability. The preparation of LAGG sponge was designed by impregnated in collagen solution. To compare morphology between non-impregnated gellan gum sponge and impregnated gellan gum sponge in collagen solution by SEM microphotographs. RT-PCR was conducted to confirm mRNA specific marker(β-actin, Collagen type1, Collagen type2). MTT assays carried out to compare the proliferation of bone marrow stem cell(BMSc). The gellan gum sponge coated by collagen solution became more increase the rate of cell attachment and growth than no coated collagen solution sponge. As a result, this study suggests that the silk sponge developed in this study has possibility of applications for future use on bone tissue engineering.
