제목 Preparation and copper ion adsorption behavior of non-woven polypropylene-based adsorbent by controlled electron beam-induced emulsion graft polymerization and amine functionalization
초록 In this research, densely amine-functionalized non-woven polypropylene adsorbent was developed by electron beam-induced emulsion graft polymerization of glycidyl methacrylate and post ethylene diamine (EDA) functionalization to remove copper ions in aqueous solution. It was verified that poly(glycidyl methacrylate)-grafted non-woven polypropylene (PP-g-PGMA) with the grafting degree ranging from 101% to 256% was effectively  produced under the optimized condition. The developed PP-g-PGMA-EDA adsorbents by ethyleneamine (EDA) functionalization of PP-g-PGMA exhibited the grafting degree-dependent amine density (ranging from 2.8 to 3.5 mmol/g). Furthermore, the metal ion adsorption test revealed that the densely amine-functionalized PP absorbed copper ions in aqueous solution more efficiently than did the commercial resin.
