제목 Synthesis of chiral ionic liquid and its effect on photonic crystal
초록 We synthesized chiral imidazolium based ionic liquid (CIL) as swelling solvent and investigated its effect on 1D photonic crystal film. For verification of applicability as reflection display, circular dichroism was measured. Due to the chirality on the film by CIL, fabricated photonic crystal film showed difference transmittance between right-handed circularly polarized light (RCP) and left-handed circularly polarized light (LCP). Highly circular dichroism was obtainen when exposed to ultraviolet (UV) light of 254 nm wavelength. Polarization difference between left and right direction using UV light was higher than using visible light. Reflection wavelength of the films in UV-Visible spectra was 500 ~ 530 nm. These measured wavelength were investigated according to the UV exposure time and molecular weight of polystyrene-b-poly(2-Vinylpyridine) (PS-b-P2VP) blockcopolymer.
