Preparation and Evaluation of Chitosan coated Zeolite |

Zeolite has been many porese. However, utilization of zeolite as coagulant has been limited non-amine group. To overcome these obstacles, zeolite was coated of chitosan. Zeolite-coated chitosan formed pores with amine groups through lyophilization. Also, reacted with KOH and subjected to a carbonization process with high temperature. The chitosan coated was confirmed by FT-IR and XRD. The content of zeolite decreased gradually with increasing amount of chitosan coated. And its confirmed by XPS. Moreover, The mophological property of chitosan coated zeolite were confirmed by SEM. The thermal property of Chitosan, zeolite and Chitosan coated zeolite was confirmed by analysis of TGA and DSC. These results suggest that the chitosan-coated zeolite may be used as a flocculant in which amine groups are present.
