Magnetic nanoparticles-coated hydrogel have attracted in biomedical fields because of their potential application to controlled drug delivery, bio-imaging, and magnetic separation. In this work, nanocomposites were fabricated via two steps; (1)core-shell magnetic nanoparticles with different silica shell layer was synthesized by the sol-gel reaction (2) the magnetic silica nanospheres were functionalized by 3-(trimethoxysilyl)propylmethacrylate, followed by the further encapsulation of poly(N-isopropylacrylamide-co-acrylic acid) copolymershell. Core-shell magnetic particles exhibited superparamagnetic characteristics with negligible remanence and coercivity. Hydrogel composites showed changes of size corresponding to the alteration of pH and temperature. |
