Porous polymers based nitrogen doped porous carbon coated on graphite felt as an electrocatalyst for the all vanadium redox flow battery |

We study that to facilitate the slow reaction materials, nitrogen doped porous carbon coated on graphite felt were synthesized for electrodes in vanadium redox flow battery. The effect of nitrogen doping and high porosity on the electrochemical performance of prepared electrodes was investigated. Cyclic voltammetry test and single cell results showed that prepared pours N-GF electrodes exhibited the highest electrocatalytic activities for VO 2+ /VO 2 + couples compare to commercial graphite felt. Also electrode demonstrated long term stability and excellent rate capability up to 150 mA cm −2 with significantly lowered electron transfer and polarization resistance. |
