초록 This study examines the effect of process parameter (feeding rate, feeding position, plasma power, quenching effect) on the ratio of nano-powders in a mixture of micro- and nano-powders during RF plasma treatment. Gas atomized stainless steel powders (~35 μm) were used as precursor powders (feeding materials). After the RF plasma treatment of stainless steel powders, the size and ratio of nano-powders (< 0.1 μm) were measured in order to finding out the dominant process parameters. Experimental conditions of increasing the ratio of nano-powders were as follows: decreasing the feeding rate, decreasing the distance from the feeding position to the plasma torch, increasing a plasma power. We have successfully prepared the micro-nano-power mixtures and controlled the ratio and size of nano-powders. The experimental findings in this study provide the potential application of the mixture of micro- and nano-powders for processing the PIM (powder injection molding) products with full density and fine microstructure.
