제목 Cobalt Coating effect on 460FC-based metallic interconnect for Solid Oxide Fuel Cells
초록 Solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) exhibit lower emission and operating cost, as well as excellent fuel flexibility, efficiency and power reliability, as compared to other electrochemical devices. 460FC-based Fe-Cr alloy have been developed as metallic interconnect with low-cost and of oxidation resistance for technical and commercial viability of planar SOFCs. However, Upon oxidation under the SOFCs operating environment for thousands of hours, metallic interconnects of 460FC-based Fe-Cr alloy caused various problems that Cr diffusion and Cr2O3-scales growth lead to increased resistance and thus reduce the power efficiency of SOFCs. In this paper, Co protective layer was deposited on 460FC-based Fe-Cr alloy by the electroless plating method and then oxidized at high temperature. It is confirmed that the presence of continuous Co3O4 layer inhibited the diffusion of Cr and retarded the growth of Cr-based oxide effectively during oxidation at high temperature.
