제목 Study of Rh/Al2O3 pellet catalyst for N2O decomposition
초록 Annually, Greenhouse gas emission by nature and anthropogenic source has been increasing. Among these gas, N2O has a high global warming potential (GWP) which is 310 times higher than that of CO2. Therefore, it is necessary to remove N2O from the atmosphere. N2O can be decomposed to N2 and O2 over noble metal catalysts, ion-exchanged zeolites, and metal oxide catalyst. Rh-based catalysts have been favored for the direct decomposition of N2O due to the fact that Rh, among the precious metals, shows the greatest reactivity toward N-O bond. Typically, Al2O3 is used as a support for loading Rh species in industry, and Rh/Al2O3 powder catalyst shows moderate catalytic activity in N2O decomposition. Although researchers have attempted to improve the activity of Rh/Al2O3 powder catalyst, it remains unclear the influence of Rh/Al2O3 pellet catalyst for N2O decomposition. The objective of this study is to observe the performance of the pellet catalyst having high activity at low temperature (below 400 ºC).
