제목 A comparative study on morphology of ceria supported catalyst for N2O decomposition
초록 During the last decade, the increasing concentration of N2O is considered as an important environmental issue due to the high global warming potential (GWP). It has 310 times higher than that of CO2. It was reported that nitrous oxide is easily decomposed to nitrogen and oxygen on various types of catalysts such as noble metals, ion-exchanged zeolites, and metal oxides. Recently various shape of catalyst, nanorod, cube, and slab, has been applied for catalytic activity test. This modified catalyst has advantages of large surface area or increased active site for reaction. According to literature, ceria is effective in enhancing the activities of catalyst when it is used as a support and promoter due to oxygen storage-release capacity (OSC) in Ce4+/Ce3+ redox cycle. The objectives of this study is a comparison on morphology of ceria supported catalyst for direct decomposition of N2O. The catalyst for this experiment was synthesized by hydrothermal treatment and the characteristics of the catalyst were analyzed.
