Bioinspired Synthesis of Titanium Oxide using Silk Sericin as a Template |
초록 |
Biomineralization is a process that living organism accumulates minerals into solid forms. Proteins have been widely used as templates for the synthesis of inorganic nanoparticles in the living organism. TiO2 have received special attention because of their potential applications in the areas of pigments, photocatalysts, cosmetics, gas sensors, photovoltaic cells, and so on. The physicochemical properties of TiO2 are strongly influenced by the particle size, morphology and crystallinity, especially the particle size. Sericin is a minor protein of silk proteins and has unusual high content of serine and threonine. In this study, TiO2 was successfully synthesized in the presence of sericin as a bio-template. The prepared TiO2 nanoparticles were further characterized by XRD, FTIR, TG-DTA and UV-Vis. The biomineralization of TiO2 with sericin as bio-template provides a cheap, green and repeatable route for the fabrication of uniform TiO2 nanoparticles under mild conditions. |
