Electrospinning of Fish Gelatin Nanofibrous mats as Potential Scaffolds in Tissue Engineering |
초록 |
Gelatin is a natural biopolymer derived from collagen found in animal tissues. It is often used as a drug carrier, wound dressing material and scaffold for tissue engineering since it has good biocompatibility and biodegradability in vivo. However, the main sources for commercial gelatin are limited to mammalian sources such as pig or cow bones and skins. An alternative to using mammalian gelatin in biomedical fields involve using of fish gelatin. Compared with mammalian gelatin, fish gelatin has lower concentrations of proline and hydroxyproline. Due to this, fish gelatin has specific characteristics, such as higher viscosity and lower immunogenicity. In this study, we successfully prepared fish gelatin nano-fibrous scaffolds using electrospinning method. The electrospinning condition was optimized by changing the dope solution concentration, voltage, and flow rate. After that, in vitro studies were performed to evaluate the feasibility of this material for tissue engineering. |
