제목 | Oral controlled release of nifedipine using mini-osmotic pump |
초록 | Osmotic pump tablet system for oral administration has many advantages such as constant delivery rate or minimized fluctuation of drug concentration in plasma and thereby reduced risk of adverse reactions, extended action period or reduced inconvenience of frequent re-dose and hence improved patient compliance, and in vivo predictability of release rate on the basis of in vitro data. For the improvement of release pattern and water-insolubility of nifedipine (ND), we prepared improved-osmotic tablet (IOT). Mini-osmotic tablet is used once a day formulation for controlled delivery of drugs. The mini-osmotic tablet can be a single osmotic unit or it can comprise of as many as two to three push-pull osmotic units filled in a hard gelatin capsule, after coming in contact with the gastrointestinal fluids, gelatin capsule dissolved as the system enters into the small intestine, water is imbibed into the core thereby causing the push compartmemt to swell the aims of study were to prepare IOT by novel mould device, and to investigate the effect of different preparation parameter, mini-osmotic tablet's administration period once a day to evaluate it's effect.
