제목 Synthesis, Charactorization, and Degradation of Polyesters from Camphor and Tartaric Acid
초록 We introduce polyesters with an a cyclic, eco-friendly camphor diester to overcome the problems caused by petroplastics. The monomer consitinting of a ketal group of camphor and tartaric acid has high thermal stability through a rigid spiro-structure and a bridged bicyclic structure. The polyesters were synthesized, including dimethyl terephthalate and a variety of diols. The polyester showed adequate thermal stability up to over 393 °C and had a high glass transition temperature, which steadily increased from more than 36 °C. This thermal behaviour resulted in amorphous regions as the Ct diester concentration increased. The proportion of the Ct diester in the polyesters was susceptible to hydrolysis and contributed to the degradation of the polyester under acid buffer conditions.
