제목 | Anion Exchange Membranes for Alkaline Water Electrolysis |
초록 | Recently, AEMWE has begun to develop as alternative solution that combines the merit and drawback of PEMWE and traditional LAWE. AEMWE can use the PGM-free catalyst such as Ni, Mn. Additionally, AEMWE can be operated with distilled water (DI water) or with a low concentration of the alkaline condition, which increases the durability of the membrane. Despite of these merits, the AEM for the electrochemical device lacks in the structural stability due to the harsh alkaline environment of the operation conditions. In this study, we prepared blend membrane composed of a series of N3-butyl-substituted imidazolium-based poly(1-vinyl-3-imidazole-co-styrene) (PIS) via radical polymerization and poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) for anion exchange membrane (AEM) for alkaline water electrolysis (AWE).We believe that our study makes a significant contribution to the literature as our results indicate that our blend membranes are ideal candidates for anion exchange water electrolysis systems. |
