The CoFe-LDH electrode catalysts were prepared by electrodeposition with varying Co to Fe molar ratios of 100:0, 99:1, 95:5, 90:10, 80:20, and 0:100, and applied for the alkaline oxygen evolution reaction (OER). Structural properties of the CoFe-LDH samples were characterized by in situ X-ray absorption near edge structure spectroscopy (XANES). The electrochemical redox properties and the OER performances of the catalysts were measured by cyclic voltammetry in ranges of 0-0.9 V (vs. Hg/HgO) in 1.0 M KOH. The CoFe-LDH samples showed better activity and stability than Co(OH)2 samples in the OER, in which the Co0.95Fe0.05-LDH exhibited the best performance in the OER with a potential of 0.65V(vs. Hg/HgO) at 10 mA cm-2 even after 100 CV cycles. |
