In this work, we prepared poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) based solid polymer electrolytes doped with various lithium salts and with different molecular weight of PEO. We investigated the effect of molecular weight of PEO as increasing contents of lithium salts on the ionic conductivity. The characteristics were determined by XRD, DSC, TGA, FTIR and electrochemical methods. The decreasing molecular weight of PEO with high contents of lithium salts improved the ionic conductivity of PEO polymer electrolyte. We concluded that the high content of lithium salt acts as crystal cores in low molecular weight PEO composite electrolyte with low crystallites. That was the decreases of crystallinity provides much more continuous amorphous phase for lithium ion moving in PEO solid electrolyte. |
