Controlling device parameters for efficient polymer:fullerene solar cells |

Cheap solar energy conversion to electricity is recognised as a golden egg that could lead us to preoccupy the future economic hegemony. Recently the performance of organic solar cells has been improved and to date most of the best organic solar cells are known to employ fullerene or its derivatives as an electron-accepting component due to their shifted band structure that is suitable for efficient charge separation from the light-absorbing and electron-donating organic semiconducting materials. As a light-absorbing and electron-donating material, regioregular poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) has been widely used due to its sophisticated self-organization feature leading to high hole mobility and improved light harvesting. In this presentation we report the detailed study for controlling device parameters in order to maximize the power conversion efficiency of P3HT:fullerene solar cells. |
