Conjugated conducting polymers receive strong attention among various electrochromic materials because they have several advantageous such as fast switching speed, high contrast ratio, and high coloration efficiency. Here, poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) was spin coated on the ITO glass and used as a red color (λmax ~550 nm) electrochromic(EC) material. Another thiophene derivative, poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) was employed to blue color (λmax ~600 nm) at neutral state through vapor polymerization. Poly(4-anilino-1-bytanesulfonic acid) (PANBUS) was used as an anodically coloring polymer, which show dark green color (λmax ~450 nm, ~750 nm) at oxidation state. When P3HT + PEDOT were at reduced state, PANBS was at its oxidized state, and vice versa. Consequently, all of the polymers contributed to the absorption in the colored state, resulting in broader absorption range in the visible range compared to those of the individual P3HT, PEDOT and PANBS devices. |
