Ammoxidation of meta-Xylene was performed to produce isophthalonitrile.In the ammoxidation process, the highest yield of isophthalonitrile was obtained at 380 oC using V2O5/Alumina catalyst.It was also found that the concentration of ammonia and GHSV were critical factors to increase the yield of isophthalonitrile. After finding the optimistic reaction conditions, cycling test was carried out to observe the transformation of the catalyst surface and the activated cites. As the result, it was found that the catalysts were fine forthe long-term use andalso recycable with a proper activation process to revive the active centers in Vanadium based catalysts. |
