Fabrication of novel hydrogel has continued to gain tremendous interest in recent decades because of their broad application in biomedicine, tissue engineering and water purification. Based on large numbers of previous reports, we developed a soybean oil-based hydrogel. Soybean oil is a vegetable oil extracted from the seeds of the soybean. It is one of the most widely consumed cooking oils. Therefore, it is environment-friendly and biocompatible. The hydrogels based on the soybean oil are also of great significance and biocompatible because of their environment-friendly framework. We have developed a simple synthetic strategy exhibiting short reaction time, easy separation and high yield. The surface morphologies of the hydrogels are observed with scanning electron microscope for elucidating the difference of various hydrogels in their swellability. Produced materials are well characterized by infrared spectroscopy, 1H-NMR, 13C NMR and 31P NMR spectroscopy. |
