One-dimensional metallic nanostructures, Ag nanowires (Ag NWs), have recently attracted a great deal of attention as electrode material as a promising alternative to ITO for fabrication of electronic devices. In this work, we successfully synthesized Ag NWs whose diameters could be controlled in the range of 20–25 nm and lengths up to 20 μm through the magnetic ionic liquids (MIL) as a soft template in polyol reaction. The structure and diameter of Ag NWs was largely influenced by the concentration of MIL. These Ag NWs films showed an sheet resistance of 20 ohm/sq. at 90% transparent, and then haze value was down to 1.2%. It is clear that such transparent conducting Ag NWs have the potential to outperform conventional ITO thin films, especially when used in flexible OLED devices as a potential electrode layer. |
