제목 Nanostructure Study of a Well-Defined Amphiphilic Brush polymer at Various Interfaces
초록 We synthesized brush polymer, poly(oxy(n-dodecylthiomethyl)ethylene). We investigated the structures of thin films composed of the well-defined amphiphilic brush polymers that were characterized. The PECH-C12 polymer film formed a well-ordered in-plane oriented molecular multibilayer structure, whose individual layers consisted of three sublayers. One sublayer was composed of the fully extended backbones and inner part of the bristles, exhibiting a relatively low electron density, whereas the other sublayer was composed of a bilayer of the outer parts of the bristles without interdigitation. Between high electron density layers and low electron density layers, there are interfacial layers which have the middle range of electron density. One step further, we made the langmuir film with this brush polymer (PECH-C12) and investigated at an air-water interface. In this study, PECH-C12 demonstrated to self-asseble even at the air-water interface as an ordered Langmuir monolayer.
