Preparation and Release Properties of Niacinamide Imprinted MBS Based Biomaterials as Functional Cosmetic Materials |

In this study, functional niacinamide (NA) imprinted biomaterials for skin-whitening cosmetics were prepared using mungbean starch, polyvinyl alcohol, and plasticizers (glycerol and citric acid) under UV curing process. The prepared biomaterials were characterized for FE-SEM and FT-IR analysis. In addition, they were evaluated by NA release properties and physical properties. To verify the anti-aging and whitening effects for prepared biomaterials, the investigation of tyrosinase inhibitory (%) and DPPH assay were performed. Results of NA release indicated that NA release rate in low pH was faster than that in high pH. NA release using artificial skin for biomaterials without the addition of plasticizers and plasticizers added biomaterials was 87% and 100% for 3 h, respectively. The results of tyrosinase inhibition rate (%) and DPPH-radical scavenging activity rate (%) of NA imprinted biomaterials with the addition of citric acid were the highest as 58% and 60%, respectively |
