제목 A Study on the Relative Humidity Control of Poly(AA-co-AM)/Sepiolite Composite  Prepared by In-Situ Solution Polymerization
초록 Sepiolite is a hydrous magnesium silicate as natural fibrous clay mineral with a typical molecular formula of Si12O30Mg8(OH)4(H2O)4·8H2O and has high surface area with porosity.
In many studies, sepiolite has been used to increase the mechanical, physical, and thermal properties of polymer. But in this study, sepiolite was used in the sepiolite/polymer composite in order to increasing the moisture absorption capability and rapidly moisture absorption of a hydrophilic polymer. Water soluble monomers (acrylic acid, acrylamide) were polymerized in the presence of sepiolite dispersion with crosslinker (N’N-methylenebisacrylamide), and the products were isolated to make sepiolite/polymer composites. Obtained products were characterizaed by FT-IR, TGA, SEM and BET. Moisture absorption performance of the composites were evaluated at constant temperature (25℃) and relative humidity (RH 50~95%) using a thermo-hygrostat.
