Colorimetric Thermometer from Graphene Oxide Platform Integrated with Red, Green, and Blue Emitting, Responsive Block Copolymers |

Effective monitoring of temperatures in a range between 25-45 ˚C without expensive detector is of great importance in clinical and biological applications. Herein, we developed a colorimetric thermometer that detects a wide range temperature of 24-42 ˚C using a novel platform of block copolymers (BCPs) integrated graphene oxide (GO). In order to generate a colorimetric behavior, GO was functionalized with three different BCPs: each BCP is composed of temperature-responsive block and fluorescent block, but each temperature responsive block had different lower critical solution temperature for complimentary ranges of temperatures. Also, the three BCPs had different emitting colors of red, green, and blue to provide a distinct color-displaying response. Therefore, the fluorescence of the three BCPs on GO platform were independently switched on and off as the temperature changed, producing a distinct colorimetric behavior in range of 24-42 °C with excellent reversibility and stability. |
