Aloe vera gel/Silk Fibroin Film for Corneal Endothelial Cells |

We fabricated transparent, clear, stable silk films, well-degradable with aloe vera gel as an alternative scaffold for bioengineering cornea. In vitro biological compatibility was confirmed. FESEM images display the roughness and thickness of the surface by the various ratio of aloe vera gel and SF. The morphological and structural properties were analyzed aloe vera gel content affected in transparency of each Aloe vera gel /SF films but it is not significant except only Aloe vera gel film. Even though differences occur according to the amount of aloe vera gel with SF, they do not represent any significant differences on morphology and well-expressed their functional proteins which are regulated functions of CE. Overall, the results suggest that SF provide good environment on growth of CEnCs and Aloe vera gel plays a vital role to improve physical properties.
