Since preventing the recent environmental issues and increase energy consumption efficiency by reusing biomass obtained from nature and industrial procedures with a clean and efficient method, many researches to figure out high-valuable materials from biomass have been conducted since some decades. Especially, because of the attractive benefits of abundance and eco-friendliness of biomass, studies for high-performance and low-cost carbon materials from biomass is steadily progressed. This research focused on the possibility of the lignocellulosic structure which is a kind of aromatic biopolymer that exists secondary abundant in nature. Hydrothermal carbonization and chemical activation operated to manufacture the biomass precursor to porous carbon which possessed high specific surface area over 2800 m2 g-1. Based on their valuable characteristics of high specific surface area and hierarchical porous architecture, the synthesized porous carbon provided outstanding ion and electron transport properties, which can act as the advantages for high performance in capacitive based energy storage application. |
