Conductive fibers have been attracted for various wearable systems that can applicable into smart clothes to detect various bio-signals, control temperature. To apply in such technologies, various methods using flexible hybrid materials have been utilized to fabricate conductive fibers. In this study, we developed a fiber-based sensor by using highly stretchable polymer fibers coated with the polymeric solution of nanomaterials(graphite and AgNWs). After optimization of the coating processes and the roughness of conductive fibers, two conductive fibers were twisted to monitor two different resistance-signals of the device originated from pressure and strain. In specific, the fiber sensor can monitor two different discernable signals, which are the resistance-changes in the singles of a conductive fiber and the contact resistance between two twisted fibers. By monitoring the particular waveforms of two different signals, we demonstrated that the device can detect various human-motions. |
