제목 Ultra thin pore filling membranes with a low membrane resistance for Reverse Electrodialysis system
초록 In reverse electrodialysis system, the membrane resistance directly related to the maximum power output is one of the important properties of ion exchange membrane. The membrane resistance is determined by the ion exchange capacity and the mobility of the ions within the membrane matrix. The area resistances of the prepared CEM and AEM are determined at a standard condition, i.e. in 0.5M NaCl solution. The CEM and AEM with 16㎛ of dry thickness have low area resistances (around 0.5-0.2 Ω㎠) due to their thinness. The prepared membranes were furthermore characterized in terms of the swollen membrane thickness (Tw), swelling degree (SD), ion exchange capacity (IEC), fixed charge density (CDfix),and permselectivity (a).
