Interests about polyamidoamine(PAMAM) dendrimers have been rising recent years, due to their high potentials in many applications such as drug delivery, encapsulation, and metal absorption. Abundant amine groups in PAMAM increase absorption/adsorption capacities of the polymer to heavy metal ions, and gases such as CO2. However, dendrimer requires a long and tedious synthetic stpes to obtain high molecular weight. In this study, we synthesized hyperbranched PAMAM, which is an analogue of dendrimer, in the shape of particle. To make particles we used Oil in Water in Oil (O/W/O) emulsion polymerization, and with this method, we could obtain porous polymer particles. Characteristics of porous PAMAM particles such as particle size, pore size will be presented. |
