제목 3D Graphene-dots Wrapped PtNi Nanosponges as an Effective Catalyst for Oxygen Reduction Reaction
초록 Three-dimensional (3D) bi-metallic Pt-based nanocrystals with anisotropic structures are high-potential catalysts for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR). Herein, we report a surfactant free method to synthesize 3D graphene-dots wrapped PtNi nanosponges with tunable compositions using formic acid as a reducing agent and N-Carbon dots as a structure-directing reagent at room temperature. It is found that the developed catalysts were only formed with the presence of carbon dots in the reaction solution. The composition of the developed materials can be easily controlled by changing temperature. The as-prepared materials exhibited both superior catalytic activity and durability towards the ORR compared to commercial Pt/C. This is assigned to the effect and role of the graphene shells which wrap PtNi nanosponges in self-supported interconnected nanosponge structure. The proposed strategy has a potential to synthesize other multimetallic nanocrystals with 3D nanosponges, which are expected to deliver high catalytic properties.
