제목 Preparation and Properties of Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene :Effect of Cocatalyst
초록 Ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) is a linear polyethylene with molecular weights over 1.0×106 and known as high modulus PE or high performance PE. In order to prepare UHMWPE, the polymerization of ethylene was carried out with Ziegler-Natta catalysts conjunction with various alkylaluminum cocatalysts and their mixtures under mild conditions. The effects of alkylaluminum structure on the catalyst activity, melting temperature, crystallinity and molecular weight of PE were investigated. It was found that the alkyl chain length of alkylaluminum strongly affected the catalytic activity and molecular weight of PE. The viscosity average molecular weight of obtained PE was found to be in the range from 1.0×10-6 to 7.9×10-6.
